The lasers used at The Dermatology Group are the most advanced and most effective way to reduce unwanted hair virtually anywhere on the body, for men or women. The GentleLase Laser is most effective at removing dark coarse hair on light-skinned people. GentleYag Laser removes hair with less risk of skin damage in individuals with darker skin ( Mediterranean or African-American.)


To permanently remove hair, the laser targets the pigment within active hair follicles, destroying the follicle but leaving the surrounding tissue undamaged. Because hair follicles go through cycles of activity and rest, most people need about four treatments to see ideal results. This minor procedure doesn't require any recovery time. You will notice some mild redness and swelling in the treated area, but that will go away after a few days


If you are scheduled for laser hair removal, don't wax or pluck hairs for at least two weeks before your appointment. You may shave or use chemical depilatories if you wish.
