Mission
Princeton Dermatology Associates is committed to providing total skin care for our patients. Our dermatology medical practice provides medical care for all types of skin conditions and problems. We provide skin cancer detection and treatment. We also offer highly specialized surgical services including Mohs Micrographic Surgery, laser treatments, cosmetic facial treatments, and sclerotherapy.


Dr. Roderick T. Kaufmann, Jr. was born and raised in New Jersey. He has been in private practice and on the attending staff at the University Medical Center at Princeton for more than 20 years where he has served as chief of the section of Dermatology. Dr. Kaufmann earned his undergraduate degree at Lehigh University in Pennsylvania and his medical degree at the University of Medicine and Dentistry of New Jersey in Newark, New Jersey. He completed an internship and residency in Internal Medicine at Memorial-Sloan Kettering Cancer Center and North Shore University Hospital and his residency in Dermatology at New York Hospital-Cornell Medical Center in New York City. He is the founding member, Physician Director, & President of Princeton Dermatology Associates a single specialty group practice of 9 dermatologists and 5 physician assistants with offices in Princeton, Monroe Township, North Brunswick, Pennington, and Hillsborough. He is an Assistant Clinical Professor of Dermatology New York Presbyterian Hospital/Cornell Medical College in New York City and a member of the Executive Committee of the Coalition of New Jersey Medical Professionals He is a member of the American Academy of Dermatology, on the Board of Directors of the Dermatological Society of New Jersey, and is the Director of The Dermatological Society of New Jersey South Central Region. Dr. Kaufmann treats patients of all ages from infants to the elderly with care and compassion. He treats patients for the general skin problems from acne, eczema, psoriasis, hair loss, and other problems of the skin, hair, and nails to evaluation and removal of moles and skin cancers. Additionally, he treats cosmetic issues such as wrinkles, skin rejuvenation, excess hair growth, sun and age spots, facial and leg veins. To accomplish this he employs a variety of treatments including topical agents, Botox, fillers (Cosmaderm®, Juvéderm™, Restylane®, Evolence®, Radiesse®, and Sculptra®), Lasers, and other procedures. Dr. Kaufmann is married and has two children. He is active is his children's activities as well as other community, state, and regional activities.
