How does Hair Removal work?

A gentle pulse of light is emitted directly into the hair follicle. The hair follicle absorbs the light energy, which destroys the follicles ability to re-grow hair. The energy is selectively absorbed only in the follicle, so there is no damage to your skin. Since several follicles are treated at once, this method is ideal for all areas of the body; including your back, shoulders, under arms, legs, bikini line and face.

What can I expect during the procedure? Is it painful?

The treatment will start by preparing the skin. Usually this includes cleansing, shaving and applying a cool gel. Once the skin is prepared, a handpiece will be used to scan the area being treated, emitting gentle pulses of light energy to the follicle. As the pulse occurs, you may experience a mild stinging sensation, but the discomfort will go away momentarily.

Most treatments take only minutes (depending on the size of the area to be treated), and you'll be able to resume your daily activities immediately.

What can I expect after the treatment?

Aside from the lack of hair growth, you'll never know you had any treatment done! Your skin will feel smooth and silky. The use of sunscreen is recommended for 48 hours on any treated area exposed to direct sun light.

How many treatments will I need?

Usually four to six treatments are needed however this will vary depending on several factors including: the area you wish to have treated, the hair density within that area, and the hair's growth cycle. Only hair follicles in the growth cycle at the time of treatment will be affected. Since some may enter their growth cycle after your treatment, multiple treatments will be necessary.

Will the hair grow back?

Over time, you may notice some re-growth however the majority of hair will be gone for good. We would recommend a follow up treatment every several months to keep the area completely free from hair.

Am I an ideal candidate?

If you are concerned about unwanted hair, chances are, you're an ideal candidate! This treatment method is effective for all skin types. The number of treatments necessary to achieve your desired results will vary based on each individual's skin type, hair color, and texture.
